How do you pronounce Hart + Hedi?

Heart and Head-y. 

Hedi is Juliette’s grandmothers name and by amazing coincidence the word Heady is defined as:

“hedi/ having a strong effect on your senses; making you feel excited and confident. Synonym: intoxicating.” (Oxford Dictionary) We just love it.  

And Hart? A hart is a male deer which reminds us of how perfume was made historically. However, as a modern brand, it is imperative to use ingredients which are never derived from animals.

Are your fragrances cruelty free?

All our fragrances are 100% cruelty free.  

Are your fragrances vegan?

Yes, all our fragrances are vegan. 

Are your products tested on animals?

None of our products are tested on animals. They have been tried and tested on both Richard and Juliette and almost everyone who knows them.

Where are your fragrances made?

Using both Australian and global ingredients we create, fill and package our fragrances in Australia. 

Are your fragrances gender neutral?

We view all our scents as gender-neutral. However, if you notice certain fragrances leaning towards more masculine or feminine characteristics, feel free to choose your purchases accordingly. 

Are your fragrances safe on my skin?

Co-founder Richard has suffered from skin allergies for most of his life, so product safety is a primary consideration. See our statement on Allergens.

How can I wear perfume without putting it on my skin?  

If you prefer not to spray on your skin, you can spray your perfume on garments that you are wearing or items you are carrying with you.  An excellent way to compliment any outfit is to carry a silk scarf sprayed with perfume which can be worn on your body or bag. Be aware that the fragrance will not be affected by your skin pH and the dry down will be impacted.

What if it gets on my clothing?  

We have thoroughly tested our perfumes by wearing them continuously over the last few years, and, to date, we have not experienced any staining on our clothing. The scent will linger until you wash the garment. 

Are your fragrances long lasting?

Eau De Parfum must contain 15% to 20% perfume oils. We have balanced our fragrances to have the maximum longevity, projection and sillage without being overpowering at the first application. They have been tested in very hot and humid Sydney summer weather, and last well under these conditions. It’s worth noting that prolonged exposure to the same scent will often result in your brain tuning it out. Our fragrances are complex and will reveal different parts of themselves throughout your wear.  A good perfume is a bit of a chameleon. It will start out with a heady and uplifting top note which lingers only for a few moments. As the scent dries down the mid and base notes will begin to hero. On the body, with warmth and as a reaction to your own pH, the fragrance will truly become unique to you. A good example of this is Hedi’s Garden which can be more floral on some and more green and aromatic on others. You may find that you gravitate towards different perfumes for certain occasions and contexts. With everything, your mileage may vary, but we are confident that additional applications during the day or night won’t be necessary. 

Are your fragrances natural?

See our statement on Ingredients. None of our scents contain phthalates, parabens, artificial colours, or extracts from genetically-modified plants to our fragrances.

How should I store perfume?

To maintain the exquisite aroma of your perfumes, store them in a cool, dim location like a cupboard or wardrobe. If you prefer showcasing them, make sure they are placed away from direct sunlight and extreme changes in temperature. We’ve designed the base of the box to be the perfect stand for your Hart + Hedi scent to live in on your bedside table and be accessible for daily use.

Who is the artist behind the illustrations?

Our good friend Glenn Smith has done our beautiful illustrations. The original idea was to create a wallpaper for each scent with all the botanicals and quirky characters that we thought of when we created each concept. We loved them so much that now each scent is adorned in it's very own illustration which is revealed when you open the box.

Shipping and Returns

In stock items will leave our warehouse within 2 days of purchase. We will send you a notification when your perfume is on  its way. Transit usually takes 3 to 6 business days. 

If you have made an error with your order please contact us as soon as possible since once the order has shipped, we will be unable to change it and a new order will need to be created for any additional items.

We are unable to accept returns for any product at Hart + Hedi. If you have received goods which are faulty or damaged please contact us immediately and we will work with you to reach a solution. Take a photo to assist us and keep the item with you.
